Business qualifications are attractive all over the world and demand for business graduates continues to grow. This is in line with the wide spread use of discipline that has significant presence in almost every area of business world whether in private, public or non-governmental sector. No contemporary organization can function with executives who lack knowledge in business management. To provide such skills, especially related to rational planning, cost effectiveness and decision-making, together with the application of computer software, are all part of our programmes here at CECOS London. We ensure our passing out graduates have hands on experience to run business operations in industrial, commercial, retail, leisure, catering or transport sectors with cutting edge competence.
Aims and Objectives
The general aim of the course is to develop students’ knowledge in business related fields together with hands on experience to operate confidently in the most challenging environments. To this end, the course combines necessary grounding from the fundamentals of business management to the advanced level of business planning, management and decision-making that puts students’ abilities under the spot light.
Programme Structure, Requirements, Levels, Modules, Credits, and Awards
The course comprises of ten units and an empirical research project offered over a period of 18 months. However it is possible to complete the whole programme in twelve months by taking an accelerated route. You can specialise in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Organisational Behaviour, IT and General Management. The course is delivered on semester bases; where each semester spreads roughly over 12 to 15 weeks. Three semesters are for taught courses and one semester for the final project. During the final project each student is supervised by a CECOS appointed supervisor. The project is designed to acquire hands on experience by writing a research dissertation culminating into a thesis.
All ten units (six core and four specialization) are taught on a semester basis. During semester one, all students registered for business or business related programmes are offered core units together. From semester two students are offered two core units together and two units of their specialization. During semester three, students will take two units of their specialisation and start working on a dissertation. In semester four students will further their knowledge and skills by investigating deeply into their research project. Specialization will be determined by the project together with ten units taken. While pursuing a course at CECOS, students are expected to take a minimum of four units per semester.

Dissertation
A dissertation starts during the third semester and should be completed within four months after completing the final semester. Project titles are offered from a range of the latest business and IT related fields according to the industry demand. Students are required to write a research proposal highlighting their research question and possible sources of data. This will help us to identify appropriate supervisor to guide you in writing your dissertation.
Assessment Regulation
All our study programmes are organised on semester basis. Each semester provides at least 45 credit hours per semester per module including revision week and examination. For each unit students are assessed separately on the basis of defined learning outcomes, either by the end of semester examination, coursework, assignments, mid-term exams or by a mixture of all. Students must pass each assessment component of every unit before final degree is issued.
Re-sit Policy
Students would be required to clear all exams before moving on to next year’s schedule or completing their degree programme. In case students fail any particular unit they may apply to the Examination Board for a second chance. The Examination Board will have the discretion to decide whether student be given a second chance or may be asked to repeat the unit all over again by attending classes. This mainly depends upon student’s attendance and the course teacher’s recommendations.

Research & Study at the Library
Students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the library facilities in order to support their research and coursework. Regular use of the library facilities would enable students to enhance their skills in fact gathering, information retrieval techniques and data analysis.
Computing Facilities
Students are provided with computing facilities in order to develop their individual and group assessed work.
Private study and Seminars
Students have to take control of their own learning through private study. A range of seminars will be organized throughout the year and students are encouraged to attend these seminars. Some seminars contribute additional material to the course while others provide material and thoughts for professional development.
Entry Criteria
Applicants should hold at least a second-class honours degree or equivalent qualification in any related discipline. Students are not expected to have previous related qualifications. However, those who have a relevant qualifications or experience, will benefit considerably. Applicants with fewer qualifications, but with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, will also be considered.
English Language requirements:
We strongly advise international applicant to take English tests such as IELTS (with overall band of 6) or TOEFL (required score 220 for computer based and 550 for written test). If in case you have not taken a test and also do not wish to take a language course you may alternatively provide evidence of English proficiency. In this case your admission will be subject to taking QPT (Quick Placement Test) at CECOS. If your score is not up to the required standard you will be asked to take an English language course for three or six months depending upon your level. You will be required to pay an additional fee for such programmes on top of the regular fee of your prescribed course of study.
