OCR Level 2 NVQ in Health & Social Care

Qualification Aims

This NVQ is designed for the people who deliver health and social care services. The aim of this qualification is to recognize the skills and competences of candidates in the workplace. This NVQ will allow for progression to Level 3.

Candidates must achieve 6 units made up of 4 Core Units and 2 Optional Units

Core Units:

• Communicate with and complete records for individuals
• Support the health and safety of yourself and individuals
• Develop your knowledge and practice
• Ensure your own actions support the care, protection and
  well-being of individuals.

Optional Units:

2 units to be selected from OCR List

Entry Requirement :

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but candidates must have good spoken and written knowledge of English as well as willingness to serve the community.

Assessment Criteria :

This qualification is competence-based and linked to a person’s ability to perform a range of tasks connected with their work which will be assessed and verified. OCR Verifier will go through the record of assessments and recommend for Award of Certificate to candidates in recognition of their achievements.

OCR Level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care

Qualification Aims

Candidates must achieve 8 units made up of 4 Core Units and 4 Optional Units

Core Units:

• Promote effective communication for and about individuals
• Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the working environment.
• Reflect on and develop your practice
• Promote choice, well-being and the protection of all individuals Optional Units

Optional Units:

4 optional units to be selected from OCR List

Entry Requirement :

Candidate should have NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent Qualification approved by OCR.
